We're already familiar with the organisation which has embodied corporate greed since Alien introduced it to our screens in 1979, but there’s something they aren’t telling us about Weyland-Yutani.

Sure the name was bandied about in Prometheus and Covenant and its founder appears in both movies, yet how the corporation appears to have detailed knowledge of the Xenomorphs in the original film is yet to be divulged.

The soulless organisation seems well aware of the weaponisation potential of the extra-terrestrial species and isn’t afraid to sacrifice a few of its staff members to acquire one in Alien. Health and safety, anyone?

As far as we know, only David and the Covenant survivors are aware the Xenomorphs exist, so where does Weyland-Yutani’s top brass get their intel from?

Maybe the company will indulge in the series’ long-running trope of sending out a spacecraft to investigate the fate of its predecessor, but here’s hoping there’s a more creative explanation.
