20. Black Goo Spores?

After they served such a major role in Prometheus, it's not exactly surprising that the mysterious black goo appears to be back, this time in spore form, as seemingly infesting the planet's vegetation.

An unseen member of the crew steps on a spore-infested plant or vegetable that then disperses the substance into the air. Also, remember that in the first trailer we saw the spores fly into the ear of one of the Covenant's crew, presumably infecting them?

After the black goo caused so much trouble and left fans with so many questions last time, it'll be great to see it expanded upon here.
