13. Reminisce - April 16th
Reminisce is an upcoming science fiction film starring Hugh Jackman as a veteran who can see into the memories of others.
The film is written and directed by Lisa Joy, co-creator and writer on the hit HBO show Westworld. Reminisce will be her first foray into feature films.
The film will be set in the near future, where climate change has flooded areas with rising sea levels. One of these places is Miami, where the film is set. Jackman's character, Nick Bannister, offers clients the chance to relive any memory they desire, which will lead him to meet Mae, (Rebecca Ferguson) a woman with memories that implicate her in violent crimes.
The film will also star Thandie Newton (also a Westworld alum), Daniel Wu and Cliff Curtis, and had a budget of 70 million dollars.
Given her background in sci-fi shows, the chances are good that Joy will deliver a smart, yet dark thriller with a heavy emphasis on technology and present issues. Hopefully no comments on a big, humanity ending virus, though. We don't need any more of that.
