The Amazing Spider-Man: 5 Villains We Never, Ever Want To See On Film

5. Man-Wolf

Man-Wolf has, in a sense, already appeared in a Spider-Man movie. He is John Jameson - the astronaut son of J. Jonah Jameson, the fiery editor of the Daily Bugle - and he appeared (albeit in human form) in Spider-Man 2. He quickly developed a relationship with Mary Jane Watson when a strain is caused on her friendship with Peter Parker and, as a result, she immediately accepted his marriage proposal. However, in the end, Mary Jane realised that she did not truly love John and left him at the altar to go back to Peter. That series of films is now at an end, however, and if something similar was to occur in the current Spider-Man franchise and Jameson wanted to get revenge on Spider-Man, it would be hideous if Marvel and Sony allowed him to do so in the form of Man-Wolf (who first appeared in Creatures on the Loose #30 in July of 1974). Jameson found the mystical Godstone, an other-dimensional ruby, on the moon whilst on a mission. The jewel grafted itself to his throat and extended tendrils through his body. Moonlight then activated the gem, which transformed him into the lycanthropic Man-Wolf, and he fought Spider-Man in this bestial form. The gem grants Jameson superhuman strength, speed, agility, durability and senses, as well as an accelerated healing factor and the sharp claws and teeth that you would expect a werewolf to have. It just wouldn't work in a Spider-Man movie. The idea of finding a gem on the moon - one which turns the wearer in to a werewolf - is a concept that is best kept in the comics and wouldn't fit with the feel of the Amazing Spider-Man franchise. There are enough werewolves in other franchises and Spider-Man has a whole host of far more original villains that could be used ahead of this guy - so let's hope it doesn't happen.
