Another 20 Underrated Movies You Have To See
1. Pride And Glory
Let's get this out in the open: Pride and Glory is the best crime drama you've never seen. It's also one of modern cinema's grittiest, meanest and bleakest cop movies, sporting a phenomenal cast led by Edward Norton, Colin Farrell, Jon Voight, Noah Emmerich, Lake Bell, Jennifer Ehle, Shea Whigham, Frank Grillo and more.
Released in 2008 and directed by Gavin O'Connor, the dark drama follows Ray (Norton) as he is tasked with investigating the death of four fellow police officers. The further he digs, however, the more dirt he finds and the closer he gets to a shocking truth. Not only is the whole thing a tense mystery, it also incorporates a powerful tale of corruption courtesy of Ray's brother Jimmy (Farrell), and an effective family drama courtesy of Ray, Jimmy, their father (Voight) and their other brother (Emmerich).
With constant tension and some seriously impressive, award-worthy acting - primarily from Norton, Farrell and Grillo - Pride and Glory is a well-controlled, tightly written thrill ride which not once fails to impress, surprise and entertain.
Considering the amount of talent involved, it's a wonder the film is as under-seen as it is, but hopefully having read this you can help turn that around.
