Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania - 8 Reasons It Sucks

2. The Story Never Comes Together

The quality of the writing in the MCU has recently hit an all-time low and judging by Quantumania, that doesn't seem to be improving either. This movie's script is a complete mess, and that's putting it gently.

The potential was really there for a weird, expectation-defying adventure in the Quantum Realm but at the end of the day, this is about as unadventurous as superhero cinema gets, and the general script feels completely half-cooked too.

It's a chaotic jumble of set-ups without pay-offs, pay-offs without set-ups, flat characterization, uninteresting dialogue and failed jokes that completely wastes a great Marvel hero and doesn't give Kang the great material he so badly deserved either.

The set-up for the film is very unconvincing too. Somehow, Cassie managed to build a Quantum satellite all on her own and this randomly sucks the characters in but still, that's not quite as jarring as the end of the film, which sees the heroes return to their world via a complete deus ex machina which comes out of nowhere.
