Army Of The Dead: 10 Most Savage Deaths Ranked
2. Scott Ward
This one hurt.
Thief. Mercenary. Father. Hero. Protagonist Scott Ward feels like a big, cuddly teddy bear that will shoot and slaughter to the ends of the undead Earth if it means giving his daughter a better life.
Dave Bautista brings a genuine sense of vulnerability and sincerity to a character who could, in the wrong hands, come across as a one-note tough guy. It's not often we get to see our action heroes cry, and it's that humanity of his that makes him so likable.
So, when Ward eventually has to be put down by his own daughter after being bitten by Zeus, it hurts like hell.
After just about every other character died in horrific ways, there was no assumption that he would just get to ride off into the sunset. But that doesn't make Scott's death at the hands of his estranged daughter any less painful. Ward had just repaired his relationship with her, and barely even got five minutes of solid father-daughter time before it all came crashing down again. Literally.
Rest in peace, king.
