Arnold Schwarzenegger: Every Movie Ranked From Worst To Best

21. Sabotage (2014)

Arnie's quest to explore new avenues during his post-Governor acting career led him to sign on to David Ayer's gritty ensemble thriller, complete with dodgy haircut. While it does mark one of his better acting performances in recent years, Sabotage's uneven tone and unlikeable characters result in a disappointing movie from the usually-reliable Ayer. The writer/director has claimed that the movie was heavily re-cut for its theatrical release, which would go some way to explaining how the narrative struggles to juggle elements of the action, crime, thriller and mystery genres into a cohesive whole. While Schwarzenegger convinces as the world-weary and grizzled antihero, the rest of his SWAT comrades are little more than one-dimensional misogynists, with a lack of sympathy failing to make the audience care as they get picked off one by one.

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
