Avengers 5: 10 Possible Storylines It Would Be Awesome To See In The MCU

Civil War II was admittedly a pretty terrible comic book series, but it would be no bad thing to revisit the "Civil War" concept for Avengers 5. Superheroes fighting each other is always fun, and while Iron Man is no longer around, there are other characters who could take his place. The new Captain America (Sam Wilson) or even someone like She-Hulk are both solid possibilities.

Ultimately, this would have to be a very loose adaptation, but Ulysses (an Inhuman with the ability to see possible futures) could easily be swapped out for a mutant character, or even someone like America Chavez - who will be introduced in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness - who has experience of the Multiverse and alternate timelines.

In some ways, Captain America: Civil War was just a warm up for an even bigger clash between the MCU's heroes, especially after Avengers: Endgame changed this world in such significant ways.

That movie didn't borrow a huge amount from Mark Millar and Steve McNiven's classic Civil War, so even elements from that could be utilised in a "Civil War II" adaptation.
