Avengers: Age Of Ultron - 10 Key Characters Who Could Die

4. Captain America

Why He Could Die: Captain America is going to die in the Marvel Cinematic Universe - that's a given - and he has a ready-made replacement in Bucky Barnes AKA the Winter Soldier, who looks to be on the right path after the events of his titular film, so it could feasibly happen at any point. Although Chris Evans has more movies in his contract, his World War II history makes flashback scenes more likely than any other character. Steve Rogers is known for glorious sacrifice, so the likelihood of him dying in an Avengers movie whilst saving the rest of his team is pretty much 100%. The only question is; will it be this one? Why He Could Live: Chris Evans is contracted to two more Marvel movies after this one - one of them is the third Captain America movie and the other is the third Avengers movie and while Bucky could take over the mantle in those movies, it seems unlikely. The likelihood is that Rogers will reunite with Bucky Barnes prior to his death and that is most likely to happen in the third Captain America movie. If the third Avengers movie includes an Infinity Gauntlet-wielding Thanos, it seems like a shoe-in that Captain America's iconic scene from the comics - in which he bravely stood up to the godly Mad Titan before being mercilessly killed - is going to happen in that movie. Likelihood: 3/10. It's extremely unlikely, but could happen in the event of Marvel wanting to shock. And the fact that Bucky Barnes can step in, realistically, at any point means that there's got to be a slim chance of a Steve Rogers death in Age of Ultron.
