Avengers: Age Of Ultron - 10 Things We Want Ultron To Do

5. Kill An Avenger

Strongly related to the last point, it's about time an Avenger (or at least an important supporting character) was killed off. The Marvel Cinematic Universe feels too safe at the moment, with viewers comfortable in the knowledge that, whatever happens, their favourite characters are going to come out smelling of roses at the end of the movie they're watching (or, in Phil Coulson's case, a bit later than that). A death would give us the "edge of our seat" feeling in all future movies that makes movies so much more exciting to watch. Even if it's Maria Hill, James "Rhodey" Rhodes or one of the new Avengers in Quicksilver or the Scarlet Witch, Marvel need to show they have the balls to kill off a major heroic character permanently - otherwise these movies are going to start becoming ridiculously predictable and, equally as important, far too packed full of heroes who refuse to die, even as new characters are added. In other words, deaths are necessary to keep a franchise that has lasted as long as this one (and is going to last a lot longer) fresh.
