3. Giving Captain America Full Leadership
The Iron Man fans are groaning already. By the end of the Avengers, we still had little idea on who was the leader of the S.H.I.E.L.D. appointed team. That was until last year when Marvel Co-President Louis DEsposito revealed both Iron Man and Captain America would share leadership duties. As Ive stated in the Captain America article, its understandable that Cap would not hold full leadership as it was the teams first collaboration. It didnt help that Starks bearing presence was felt throughout and, of course, he stole the show when the Hulk was not on-screen. At every turn he outwits Steve Rogers and steals any action scene the two are in (see the helicarrier attack for example). Finally, in a fan-pleasing scene, Iron Man gives Cap full command over the Avengers. It was the only time we saw Cap in an actual leadership moment and he completely shined. Currently, Iron Man and Cap are officially co-leaders, but Tony has given up his Iron Man suits so his role as an Avenger may be diminished. As a natural, Captain America needs to be given full leadership as he is the most qualified and deserving of the candidates. It should not be Nick Fury who appoints him as the official leader, but instead by Tony. Tonys role in the Age of Ultron is now clearer, but instead of a co-leader he should be
