17. Shang-Chi
It would be remiss when talking about the MCU drop off post-Endgame if Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings was not mentioned as an exception. The second entry in Phase Four was a strong one, and was arguably the best hero origin film since Iron Man in 2008.
Unsurprisingly, people have been waiting with bated breath for news surrounding a sequel, or at the very least the character's return. Appearing in an Old West-themed episode of What If...? wasn't enough, and thankfully audiences now have confirmation of his return.
After battling against his father, and coming into possession of the legendary Ten Rings himself, Shang-Chi (Simu Liu) was summoned by Wong (Benedict Wong) at the end of his solo film. There he met with Bruce Banner and Carol Danvers (Brie Larson) to discuss the artefacts.
There are two major things to take from this meeting. First is that there is still seemingly some semblance of an Avengers team for Sam Wilson to build from, even if it is only Wong, Carol, and Bruce. The second, is that Shang-Chi could cause Doom some real trouble.
