2. The X-Men Appear In A Post-Credits Scene

The Rumour

In what could generously be called a pipe dream, there were persistent yet fundamentally ridiculous rumours in the year leading up to Endgame's release that the film would feature some sort of post-credits tease for the X-Men joining the MCU in the near-future.

Even with the Disney-Fox merger only being completed after Endgame's principal photography wrapped and Kevin Feige flat-out telling fans that Fox's Marvel IP wouldn't be integrated for several years, many fans felt this was just another classic MCU rug-pull.

The rumours ranged from the outlandish non-possibility of Hugh Jackman appearing for a cameo as Wolverine, to a more believable, subtle visual reference to the X-Men's impending arrival.

The Truth

Obviously this didn't happen, and given the enormity of what Endgame already had on its plate, it was absolutely for the best. The last thing this movie needed was to start teasing more superheroes the minute after it said farewell to the O.G. Avengers.

The X-Men are coming in the future, but if recent X-Men films have proven anything, it's that nothing good ever came from rushing a movie out the door.
