9. Peggy Carter

Peggy Carter has previously made cameo appearances in both Age of Ultron (in a flashback) and Civil War (at the end of her life, on her deathbed), but both of those were hardly huge surprises. The first was smart marketing to coincide with her own series Agent Carter, and the second was the franchise's way of writing her out in future.

But now, and again with time-travel on both the set menu and the breezy lunchtime a la carte, there is conceivably a way we could see her again. Only this time, it would carry massive implications.

Steve Rodgers is a man out of time. A product of a very different age who has had noted struggles with adapting to the modern world. Everything seems new or unusual and, in particular, he feels alone. With the doors of time swinging open in this movie, there’s no guarantee that he’d choose to remain in the present when all’s said and done.

With the world saved one final time, and the option there for him, don’t be surprised to see him head back to his own age to take Peggy up on that dance he promised her.
