Avengers: Endgame - 13 Best Callbacks To The MCU

12. Cap's Group Talk

After the five year time jump, the film immerses audiences in the post-rapture world the characters now live in, and one of the best scenes in the entire first act features Steve Rogers leading a group therapy session.

Part of what makes this such a fulfilling scene is just how well it mirrors Sam Wilson's role in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. When Steve met Sam in that film, Sam was a veteran leading group therapy meetings for fellow veterans. Sam was very much out of the fight and found solace in bringing peace to others dealing with the same tragedy he himself was also dealing with.

When we catch up with Steve in Endgame, he's in an exceedingly similar position. As Ultron once infamously chided him about, Cap is having to live without a war, but merely in the aftermath of this devastation. There is no more fight, he is no longer a soldier. And so, he does the best he can by trying to bring peace to those around him who need it most, even though he himself struggles with it just as much as they do.
