Avengers: Endgame - 9 Huge MCU Problems It's Created

1. It Sets A "Don't Ask Questions" Precedent

When you consider all of these issues collectively, it amounts to a lot of things that don't really make sense in Avengers: Endgame.

That's to say nothing of various unexplained plot points, such as how Thanos and his entire army were able to travel to 2023, or the presumably awkward exchange that followed when Cap returned the Soul Stone to Vormir.

Endgame is such a tangled - and impressive - web of plots, ideas and characters that the overall message basically seems to be, "just enjoy the ride, and don't think about it too much."

But given how invested fans are in this story, that's the last thing many want to hear from a film that serves as the culmination of over a decade of long-form storytelling.

Though the MCU is centred around glossy spectacle, the Russo brothers' offerings are some of the most thoughtful and logically sound in the franchise.

However, this is one area where Endgame surrenders to the (admittedly brilliant) fan service, and approaches concrete logic from a more "fluid" perspective.

Given that Endgame has smashed countless box office records already, it ultimately sends the message to Marvel Studios that they've got a lot of leeway with what audiences will accept.

And while they'll likely be smart enough to avoid time travel plots for the near-future - while hopefully explaining why that's the case - Endgame does nevertheless confirm that the MCU is capable of getting away with some incredibly questionable silliness.

Fingers crossed that it doesn't invite Kevin Feige and co. to get complacent with their future storytelling.
