Avengers: Endgame - Ridiculous Toy Leak Could Confirm MAJOR Theory

A teddy bear gives the game away on the Infinity Saga...

Of all the ways that movies can be spoiled these days, some are more forgivable than others. They come down to human error - like Gwyneth Paltrow sharing a picture of her in motion capture, or Frank Grillo revealing his call times for Endgame or Tom Holland literally ever opening his mouth - and are just one of those things. Save for torturing your cast into silence, there's not a great deal you can do about them.

More unforgivable are the leaks sanctioned by the film-makers themselves, whether directly or indirectly thanks to licensing agreements. LEGO and Funko have a habit of revealing things, and we can now add Build-A-Bear Workshop to that list. Yes, the company that allows children to make their own teddy bears have managed to seemingly spoil a fairly major plot detail for Avengers: Endgame. Or at least that's how it seems.

The company are using their official ties to Disney to release an Endgame tie-in Thanos stuffed toy. Because there's nothing kids want more these days than a murderous megalomaniac with a messiah complex. Presumably these same children enjoy burning ants.

Unfortunately for the Russos, the toy also talks, and some of the phrases he says appear to be spoilers. Which has to rank up there with the most idiotic thing I've ever written.

As first reported by Digital Spy, the new Thanos has five phrases that seem to contain lines from older movies like "If you cannot retrieve the Orb, don't bother coming back - I will find you," from Guardians of the Galaxy. Or so it would seem. But the bear also seems to have brand new lines taken from Endgame that spoil him losing his grip.

He can be made to say "I had all the power in my grasp," "How are you doing this?" and "You do not have the power to wield the Infinity Stones."

Putting them all together, even the Orb line could be from Endgame, given the suggestion that the heroes will jump back in time to previous movies. Perhaps we'll see them steal the Orb from under his grasp?

More importantly, those three lines seem to suggest that Thanos will lose his power, will be confused by the heroes removing it and will be shocked at the heroes wielding the Stones themselves. That would seem to confirm the idea that the heroes manage to take the Stones from somewhere in the timeline (or take them from him when he's killed and then jump back in time to "fix" them).

If this really is the case - and Build-A-Bear do use quotes taken from the movies when they offer licensed phrases, so it's very, very possible the lines are from the movie - it's a pretty big foul-up. And when you think about it, why on Earth would Build-A-Bear randomly include lines like that out of nowhere? Sure, the voice in the preview of the bear's phrases isn't Josh Brolin's, but those are not lines anyone would simply pick out of the ether.
