Avengers: Every Single Deleted Scene From Endgame & Infinity War

As controversial as Black Widow's unexpected demise was, it was easily one of Endgame's most moving moments because the-powers-that-be leaned heavily on her friendship with Hawkeye in order to evoke emotion from the audience. However, the scene in which Natasha and Clint wrestled over who was going to be the one to sacrifice themselves for the Soul Stone initially looked very different.

The original scene - which was filmed, edited and essentially finalized - saw the pair interrupted by Thanos and his army, with Black Widow taking it upon herself to run into the firing line as she aimed for the cliff - getting wounded multiple times in the process. And with one final shot, she saved her friend from death as she threw herself off the cliff before Thanos could get to him.

The Russos revealed that they decided to change the scene altogether because it wasn't getting the emotional response from test audiences that they were looking for, and it ultimately made them realise that the action was taking away from what ended up being a beautiful one-on-one moment between the two characters.
