Avengers: Infinity War: 10 Things That Must Happen

Will Thanos actually get out of his chair?

Infinity War Death
Marvel Studios

Unless you actively avoid anything Marvel related (just give up, it's totally impossible) you'll be more than aware that we're hurtling towards an event movie to end them all.

As the Infinity War name implies, it's the film that will finally show us the power of the Infinity Stones, pitting them against Earth's Mightiest Heroes in a war that should make for one of the biggest, most exciting superhero-projects of all time. How they'll fit it all into a single climactic film remains to be seen.

And, because Infinity War has been touted as the end of an era for Marvel's film universe, it's got plenty to do in the story department and it's got plenty of boxes to tick. It needs to work as a standalone film while paying off the past eight years of interconnected movies and setting the stage for Marvel's cinematic future.

It's a big ask to say the least, so how can the studio hope to achieve such a level of success?

Well, for all those Marvel executives that are reading this right now, here's your checklist. Infinity War is still in the scripting stage of production, which means that nothing is off the table and that perfect, well-rounded movie is still very much a possibility.

As long as they do these ten things of course...

10. The Epic 'Hero Shot' Moment

Infinity War Death
Marvel

Sometimes it's the simple, crowd-pleasing moments that make a movie tick. The Avengers was packed full of them - from the rotating group shot to the tracking shots that showed each character fighting - and they helped that movie feel like an event, remaining memorable long after you'd exited the theatre. And with Infinity War featuring double, even triple the heroes that the former movie had, the stage is set for the filmmakers to deliver something equally as special.

Look around at message boards, forums and comments sections - whenever the Avengers, Age Of Ultron and Civil War are discussed it's always the New York battle, the opening slo-mo side-shot and the airport fight that're the popular moments, and there's a reason for that. We pay for the team-up movies to see these characters fighting side-by-side, interacting with each other - and group hero shots deliver on that promise.

Plus, there are literally no other opportunities for shots like this - it's not often that you get everyone in the same movie - so it makes sense to take advantage of the circumstances.

A moment of this nature could act as the culmination of everything Marvel has been working toward, a huge 'pat on the back' to the dozen or so films that came before Infinity War and a chance for us fans to celebrate the occasion along with the creators.
