Avengers: Infinity War - 10 Things That Must Happen In Part 2

4. The Infinity Stones Must Be Locked Away Forever (Or Destroyed)

The Infinity Stones are way too powerful (not to mention dangerous) to still be available to anyone at the end of Avengers: Infinity War, which means that at the end of the story they'll have to be disposed of in one way or another. At the end of Phase Three, then, these somewhat boring MacGuffins will either have to find themselves locked away in the deepest vault ever created, or - perhaps more likely - destroyed by an immortal power of some sort so that they can no longer bring harm to anyone. Presumably Thor (if he's still alive and is ruler of Asgard at this point) will have a lot to do with this part of the story, or perhaps the Nova Corps (in collaboration with the Guardians) will find a way to keep the stones under lock and key. But perhaps Marvel will ensure to remove these from the franchise entirely, in order to pave the way for a Phase Four that has absolutely nothing to do with the Infinity Stones.
