5. The Soul Stone Doesn't Even Appear

The Rumour: For all of the fan hand-wringing about the location of the final Infinity Stone, what if it's not even in Infinity War at all, and is in fact saved for Avengers 4?

How Likely Is It?: It's a less-crazy idea than you might first think. For starters, there's no guarantee that Thanos actually acquires all six stones by the end of Infinity War, especially as we've only seen him with two for sure.

He should be able to nab the Reality Stone (the Aether) from the Collector easily enough, and with Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) being tortured, it's quite probable he gives over the Time Stone (the Eye of Agamotto).

But with recent plot details suggesting that the climactic Wakanda battle may be for custody of Vision's Mind Stone, it's entirely possible the Soul Stone remains a mystery for the entirety of the film.

It's easy to be sceptical about this one, but at the same time, don't be gob-smacked if it actually happens. 4/10
