Avengers: Infinity War - 15 New Details Marvel Just Revealed

14. It Spoils The End Of Thor: Ragnarok (Sort Of)

The footage shown at D23 opened with a hotly anticipated meeting of two factions, with the Guardians Of The Galaxy meeting the first Avenger they'll encounter - and who will no doubt be the catalyst for getting them together with the rest of his team-mates.

As per the descriptions, it opened with the Guardians flying around:

“Put on your mean faces,” Star-Lord says, because he expects something nasty. There has been crazy destruction, and then a body smashes up against their ship. “Get it away,” Rocket says. They bring the body in and it’s Thor. (Spoilers for Ragnarok, we guess?) Mantis wakes him up and Thor jumps up and exclaims “Who the hell are you guys?”"

He's also, interestingly, wearing his gladiator garb from Ragnarok.

So, that means a few things for Thor: Ragnarok. Firstly, Thor doesn't die (at least not permanently), and nor is he comfortably reseated on the throne of Asgard after Hela's invasion (or he wouldn't be floating unconscious through space). Does that mean that Hela actually wins, and will return for Infinity War?

Is this the confirmation of her taking the place of death we've all been waiting for for ages?

Either way, it's very interesting to note that things go badly for Thor at the end of Ragnarok, and it's enough to make you wonder whether Thanos turns up at the tail-end of that film to make sure Asgard's fall is a real one.
