Avengers: Infinity War - Predicting The Fate Of Every Avenger

11. Rocket

 Rocket Raccoon
Marvel Studios

Foul-mouthed, unapologetic and always ready with a snarky comment - we absolutely cannot wait to see Rocket share banter with Iron Man, Ant-Man, Spidey and the rest of the gang.

Since he and Tony also share a proclivity for building cool stuff, we're also expecting a scene where the two collaborate on something - maybe a weapon to use against Thanos - with neither being at all humble about their engineering skills.

What Will Happen To Him? Rocket's tragic past (he was experimented on and genetically mutated) was mentioned in Guardians Of The Galaxy but dropped altogether for its sequel, even though it's crucial to the character.

He has self-esteem issues and hates what he has become, so uses humour as a defense mechanism, as a way to cover up his perceived shortcomings.

Infinity War will pick up on this thread, and it's the perfect opportunity for Rocket to close the lid on these issues.

When he sees other people who were also experimented on or also have deeply traumatic pasts (Bucky, Black Widow, Hulk, Vision - the list goes on) being heroes, this will make him realise how valuable he is, and to appreciate what he does have - a group of friends and something to fight for.

Rocket will survive the movie, and he'll come out of it a changed raccoon.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
