Avengers: Infinity War - Predicting The Fate Of Every Avenger

12. Groot

Groot Guardians Of The Galaxy
Marvel Studios

The poster for Infinity War that recently dropped online revealed that Groot will appear as 'adolescent' Groot in the movie, which is more or less the same way we left him in the Guardians Vol. 2 post-credits scene.

So, sadly, there's no more Baby Groot! But the character still has plenty to offer. He's almost indestructible, has no trouble killing his enemies and is one of the strongest Avengers on the team - look out, Thanos...

What Will Happen To Him? In a way, we can easily predict which characters Marvel will not kill off based on whether or not they've nearly killed them off before.

Groot died - then came back - in Guardians Of The Galaxy, so to put him at risk of death again would feel repetitive, and Marvel knows it.

And, like Star-Lord, we don't expect Groot to change a whole lot during Infinity War. He might grow a little bit (physically) but the character doesn't really have anywhere to go, besides meeting and befriending the other Avengers.

Groot will be a valuable asset on the battlefield, and he'll make it out of the movie alive and well. After all... he. Is. Grooooooot!

In 2022, he took charge of WhoCulture and has grown it into the biggest Doctor Who channel on YouTube, and one of the biggest Doctor Who communities on the web full-stop. He has been writing and video editing since his early teens, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers, off the back of a burning obsession with the Matt Smith era of the show. Like many his age, he first got into Doctor Who with the 2005 revival, but has since gone back and fallen in love with the classic years too.
