Avengers: Infinity War - Predicting The Fate Of Every Avenger

4. Thor

It doesn't look like Thor: Ragnarok will end too well for the titular character, with what are (presumably) his first moments in Infinity War finding him floating through space and slamming into the front of the Milano, the Guardians Of The Galaxy's ship.

There are a number of possible reasons for this. Maybe Asgard is completely destroyed at the end of Ragnarok by Hela (or maybe Thanos makes a surprise appearance?) or maybe Thanos destroys it in Infinity War's opening scene, after Loki hands him the Tesseract.

It's not clear if Thor has his mighty hammer by his side in the aforementioned Infinity War scene, and if he doesn't, his powerset will be substantially reduced once the fighting starts.

What Will Happen To Him? We don't know a lot about Thor's role in the movie, but we do know that at one point, he has his head squeezed by Thanos. Yikes.

However, to show this clip to crowds at D23 and Comic-Con, and then have Thor die in Infinity War, doesn't feel right; it would almost feel like a mild spoiler.

Thor won't be killed off then, but he will reclaim his hammer at some point in the movie. This will be a turning point in the battle (similar to the way Vision retrieves the Mind Stone, except this happens earlier) and the smart money is on Doctor Strange using his magic to help restore Mjolnir to its former glory.
