Batman Reboot: 10 Essential Villains And Who Should Play Them

5. Red Hood - Eddie Redmayne

url-8 Jason Todd was the second young man to take up the mantle of Batman€™s sidekick, Robin. An orphan who first came into contact with The Dark Knight through stealing the wheels right off of the Batmobile, Todd would be taken in and trained by Wayne to become his next partner. Jason had anger issues and would frequently lose his temper. Batman thought he could curb this side of the boy by channeling his anger through crime fighting. Unfortunately, Jason would be killed by The Joker. However, he would return from the dead as the Red Hood, a vigilante who branches out his own type of justice by either killing criminals or controlling crime in Gotham all on his own. We€™ve seen this story in an animated aspect with Batman: Under the Red Hood. Ultimately, I think it's a great story that it has to be viewed on the silver screen - at least important aspects of it. Red Hood would be an immensely challenging adversary to Bruce. He has emotional and personal ties to him, and with those facets right there, the battle would be fierce. He would challenge physically, being trained by him, and mentally, having an emotional connection towards him. Jason is a fierce individual who feels little remorse and is fueled by anger and rage. He wants to clean up Gotham by doing the things that Bruce wouldn€™t. Who should play him, then? Eddie Redmayne, for my money. Redmayne is a young up and coming actor who has recently been lighting up the silver screen with movies such as My Week with Marilyn and Les Miserables. He€™s ranked up many accolades and nominations for his turn in Les Miserables and he€™s quickly getting attention as he€™s set to appear in the Wachowski€™s big budget sci-fi film Jupiter Ascending. I think this part needs somewhat of an unknown but one who has relative experience under their belt. He€™s a classical actor as his beginnings are in British Shakespearean theater. A film of this magnitude and blockbuster aspect could propel him onto the A-list like Chris Hemsworth with Thor. He seems as if he possesses the vigor and raw talent to play the part. He has a demeanor to himself that reminds me of Jason Todd; as if he could attain a silent rage.
