Batman Reboot: 10 Essential Villains And Who Should Play Them

6. Deathstroke - Dwayne €œThe Rock€ Johnson

Dwayne The Rock Johnson A villain similar to Bane - someone who can match Batman on the physical and mental level - Deathstroke, also known as Slade Wilson, is the world€™s greatest assassin and mercenary. He€™s not known as one of Batman€™s main rogues but they€™ve faced off against one another many times. For example, Slade was once a freelance assassin for the League of Assassins, sent to kill Batman. Although both he and Batman don€™t have many well-known or celebrated story arcs, that doesn€™t mean you can€™t create a rivalry between the two in a cinematic universe. Slade is technically a super soldier. His mind and body were altered by the U.S. Army during his service. He is capable of using 90% of his brain capacity; Meanwhile, his strength, durability and agility were increased to nearby superhuman levels. His martial arts skills combined with enhanced physical prowess make him on par with Batman. He applied for re-assignment with the army, but they refused him. Depression took hold of him as he wasn€™t able to serve his country. At this time, his wife became pregnant with their second child, Joseph. Slade felt unsatisfied with life. When his son Joseph was mutilated in a kidnapping, for which his wife blamed him, Slade became a mercenary, turning to a life of crime. Deathstroke is a hardened mercenary who only cares about getting the job done. Dwayne Johnson has become a solid actor after transitioning from wrestling to acting. His penchant for action films gives him a great résumé for portraying Deathstroke. Notable films he€™s starred in include The Rundown, Walking Tall, Faster, Fast Five, and the upcoming G.I. Joe: Retaliation, Pain and Gain and Fast and Furious 6. Also, he€™s in the lead in an upcoming Hercules film. Johnson possesses the rising star power, conduct, and attitude to play Deathstroke. This could be a role which displays his great acting. Deathstroke is a multi-layered character; Johnson could really open up his acting prowess with this role. Plus, the guy is huge and has the look for the role.
