1. Mr. Freeze Played By John Malkovich
We all agree that Batman and Robin is a terrible movie, and so was Arnold Schwarzenegger's over the top portrayal that sent chills down my spine, and definitely not in a good way, but that isn't the only iteration of the character. The Batman: The Animated Series version of Mr Freeze is one of the best interpretations of the character, along with the Batman: Arkham City version, which both prove there is more than enough potential in the character to justify a redo. To be frank, the character also deserves that second go. That Schumacher version was an abomination and nothing like the comics version: he is actually one of the most sympathetic villains not only in the Batman universe, but the comic book universe as a whole, thanks to his backstory. The opportunity to present Fries' attempts to save his wife through a cryogenics programme funded by Wayne Enterprises, that is ultimately canned due to financial concerns would represent the best backdrop to Victor's transformation into Dr Freeze. He could wipe out the board that pulls the plug, and lose his mind when he accidentally becomes Freeze, forcing Batman to take him down, despite knowing Victor's good intentions. As for who should play Mr Freeze, my choice would be John Malkovich, who was nominated for an Oscar for playing a villain, and came close to finally portraying a comic book character when he was cast as The Vulture in Spider Man 4, before the plug was pulled. He has the necessary poise and presence, and he has proved throughout an illustrious and varied career that he can play both villains and sympathetic characters with consummate ease.
