Which of these mega franchises is better than the other? In the first film (there will be 5 in total, Captain Jean Luc Picard is in pursuit of a distress call emanating from the desert planet Tattooine, unaware of the trap that has been set for him by Darth Vader. 

Set between Revenge Of The Sith and A New Hope, Picard - and a host of Trek friends - must escape Vader's evil clutches with nothing but their wits, and would be doomed if not for the help of the Rebel Alliance. 

Regardless of plot contrivances, the chance to finally settle the battle for the Stars would be an epic one, even if Star Trek's makers are currently attempting to tone down the Star Trekness of the franchise. Because that sort of mentality has worked so well for Alien, RoboCop, Saw and Batman in the past.
