Batman V Superman: 10 Reasons Troy Baker Would Be The Perfect Joker

1. He€™s The Right Age

Ben Affleck is 42. Troy Baker is 38. This four year age gap gives them enough of a similarity to fight each other on a level playing field. The two characters are the antithesis of each other. The two actors would almost certainly star together in future films, and the similar ages would mean that they could each star in a substantial number of sequels. Baker and Affleck could easily trade blows without the fight looking one sided, so the conflict would hardly get boring. Zack Snyder has said the film will be heavily influenced by The Dark Knight Returns, and as we said earlier Baker could easily play a similar Joker to the one in Frank Miller€™s graphic novel. For us to get engaged with the characters and invest emotionally in the eternal struggle between the Dark Knight and the Clown Prince of Crime we would have to see them as vaguely equals; this is what made Christian Bale€™s struggle with Heath Ledger€™s Joker so great. They were two sides of the same coin. Presumably Affleck will be somewhat dark in his portrayal of Batman, so Baker could easily provide some dark humour which would lighten the mood of the film. Man of Steel and the Dark Knight Trilogy had sombre tones, so Baker€™s Joker has the capacity to stop the film from being overly depressing. This is a struggle that we will want to see in multiple films; Baker and Affleck have the gravitas to keep us engaged, and they would easily compliment each other€™s portrayal, balancing the darkness of Batman with the comedic anarchism of The Joker. What did you think? Would you like to see Troy Baker or is there someone else you have in mind? Let us know in the comments section below.
