15. Day Of The Dead
Quite simply, this seems to relate to the sequence already seen in the trailer featuring Superman surrounded by citizens who appear to be reaching out to him (though not seeking help) during a Day Of The Dead festival in Mexico. It's hard to avoid the cultish imagery: though this could be no more than Superman responding to a distress signal that happens to be in the same place as the festivities, the way it's shot does seem to suggest hero worship. And of course, the celebration is designed to be in honour to the dead (along with a linked festival honouring the Innocents the day before), but there is unavoidable symmetry with political satire and the imagery of revolution (for which the Lady of Death's image became synonymous in Mexico also). That is precisely the anxiety that Superman represents to the US Senate (who have more than the damage to Metropolis as a reason to get him under control): he's a dangerous symbol of insurrection. That's a pretty layered meaning from just a couple of words.
