Batman V Superman: 9 Major Reveals From The New Images
5. Zack Snyder Doesn't Want To Make A Batman Movie
Seeing as Warner Bros. appear to be pretty clueless when it comes to how best to handle their DC Comics properties, Zack Snyder could have probably gotten them to agree to anything after Man of Steel, with a Superman sequel, an immediate leap to Justice League, or even a Batman reboot all very real possibilities. Or not. As it turns out, one character who Snyder doesn't have a lot of interest in tackling in his own solo outing is the Caped Crusader. The reason? Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Trilogy. "If it was a Batman movie it would be a much more difficult proposition because of how good Chris' movies are," Snyder reveals. "We live in gratitude to those movies. Chris set a tone for the DC Universe, and separated us from Marvel in a great way. We are the legacy of those movies." Following Nolan isn't an enviable task for anyone, but at least writer Geoff Johns and director Ben Affleck with have Batman V Superman to serve as a buffer between their upcoming Batman movie and his trilogy! Snyder's comments about Nolan's work playing a role in shaping the DC Extended Universe are also very interesting, especially as it's becoming increasingly clear with every new detail about this movie (and the rest of Warner Bros.' DC slate for that matter) that they'll be sticking to that same dark, gritty, and realistic tone.
