Doomsday is one of Superman's most iconic and unforgettably tough adversaries, so fierce, in fact, that he even managed to "kill" Superman (albeit temporarily, of course). It seems clear from what's been shown off so far that in BvS, Doomsday is created by Lex Luthor, seemingly using General Zod's corpse to set him loose, and assuming he retains most of his comic book abilities, Doomsday is biologically immortal, able to revive himself every time he is defeated, no matter if it takes him thousands of years. In addition to gradually building up resistance to enemy attacks, he can also generate weapons and new abilities to respond to his opponents' attack strategies (such as flame breath), and is strong enough that he's been able to maintain offence against the entire Justice League. Again, though, it's possible that his strength will be toned down a little. So, what works against him? Well, he's dumb as a box of rocks, and like our #1, he's unfortunately averse to Kryptonite, which might explain how Bats' possibly Kryptonite-fuelled suit in the movie will allow him to fight the beast.
