Whereas Batman and Superman have decades of cinematic history under their belt, the final third of DC's Holy Trinity has never managed to break free from the small screen. Similar to the Internet uproar about Afflecks casting and with years of expectation behind the character finally making it to the big screen, Gal Gadot, too, has received more than her share of criticism since being cast. Fortunately, though, she hasnt let it get to her, instead focusing on her excitement for and responsibility to Diana Prince and all of us who have been waiting to see a cinematic Wonder Woman. Despite the fact that Batman and Superman are sharing the title of the film, Wonder Woman could very easily steal it all out from under them if done right, and Gadot's enthusiasm has made it easy to hope she can pull it off. After Suicide Squad, the DCEU's next entry is the solo Wonder Woman film in June of 2017 ahead of the first Justice League installment, so a lot is riding on whether or not people take to her. At the end of the day, if the film can do justice to the warrior people have loved for decades - and to all the other characters it's introducing into the DCEU, for that matter - then the sky's the limit for all the projects headed our way in the years to come.
