Batman V Superman: Ranking The Characters By Anticipation
8. The Daily Planet Gang
Ideally, with Clark Kent having gone to work for the Daily Planet by the end of Man of Steel, Batman v Superman can take the time to emphasize his day to day life there and flesh out characters like Perry White a bit more, especially if Jimmy Olsen is, in fact, in the film. If this film and/or future films are going to ask audiences to care when faces like Jenny are in peril - like in the final act of the first film - then it should at least start by showing that they matter to Clark. As for Lois Lane, the first film did right by her inherent smarts, with the character figuring out Superman's identity long before it ended. It went a long way in showing her skill as an investigative reporter, and nicely ducked out of having to deal with her being oblivious to the truth because of a pair of glasses on Clark's face going forward. There's a lot on the film's plate, but if it can set aside time to further develop Lois as a strong character all her own and the rest of the Daily Planet group as a unit worth rooting for, it'll do a lot in giving the DCEU characters to love and root for outside of the ones on the marquee.
