2. Superman's Army
It's understandable that Supes snapping Zod's neck like a wafer biscuit was a less than popular move with the fans, after all Superman is supposed to find any alternative rather than killing so it seemed out of character. It's a surprise then that a chunk of the promo material, including the trailer, has seen an army sporting the 'S' logo, which hardly seems as hopeful when it's on the arm of facist soldiers. It's unlikely that Snyder would go so far as to have Superman turn into a total despot only to later found the Justice League, so this scenario has to be what plagues Bruce Wayne's nightmares, pushing him to confront Metropolis' favourite alien. It's a cool look at what could be if Superman was to ever grow sick of being everyone's mate and flex his muscles a bit, and one that shows a real impetus for the fight that the film is hinged on. Regardless though, we really shouldn't be crying over a new perception of Superman, especially if it's presented as the end of the path that killing Zod could lead to.
