Batman V Superman - Ultimate Edition: 11 Ways It Improves The Original

9. Superman Is More Heroic

A nice, simple addition to the Ultimate Edition is a few more glimpses of Superman being heroic. Firstly, during the Nairomi sequence, there's an extended build-up where CIA agents rush to the site to try and save the day after Jimmy is killed, but superior officers decide to send two drones instead to blow up the site, without evacuating the civilians.

Superman then arrives at the site, flying into the drones and destroying them as he does so, before we return to the theatrical sequence of Superman saving Lois.

Then, after the senate explosion later on, there's an extra, minute-long sequence where Superman is shown rescuing a woman from the wreckage, and is thanked by a medic. He then surveys the corpses around him and flies away, but instead of being a guilty exit as in the theatrical cut, it's got some real weight to it.
