Eli Roth's Thanksgiving wasn't big or clever, but it did deliver the seasonal-themed slasher it promised with that Grindhouse teaser trailer way back in 2007.

And by far the most unhinged kill is meted out against protagonist Jessica's (Nell Verlaque) stepmother Kathleen (Karen Cliche), who is cooked alive and served up to her own family.

After being knocked out, Kathleen wakes on the dinner table at killer John Carver's hideout, where she's basted and seasoned. 

Though she makes a spirited attempt to escape, Carver incapacitates her, ties her up, and places her inside the oven where she's cooked alive. 

Roth lingers on Kathleen's suffering for an unnervingly long time before pulling out the big payoff - Kathleen's decapitated corpse being served up to her own family as a grotesque "turkey."

Considering this very kill was teased in the original Grindhouse fake trailer almost 20 years earlier, it's all the more impressive that the elaborate final version lived up to the O.G. punchline.
