16. Valentina - Saw X
By Saw X it seemed like the franchise was basically incapable of making audiences squirm like it did in the earlier films, but the demise of Valentina (Paulette Hernández) proved us all categorically wrong.
As a member of con artist Cecilia's (Synnøve Macody Lund) team, Valentina is put into a trap where she's tasked with severing her own leg and then extracting three ounces of bone marrow from her femur to deactivate the trap.
Valentina has just three minutes to complete the task all while a saw inches its way close to her neck, and though she gets extremely close to succeeding, she ultimately falls a little short of three ounces.
And so, we're forced to watch as Valentina's head is parted from her body by the saw.
From the sheer nastiness of the trap to the awesome practical gore effects and Paulette Hernández's absolutely petrified performance, this death scene confirmed that Saw still had the ability to revolt.
