The creature feature market may be wildly oversaturated, but Grabbers has such a brilliantly, hilariously unique premise that it's completely baffling it's still so little-known.

This deliriously charming Irish horror comedy takes place on an Irish island that's overrun with tentacled alien creatures, before the residents realise that alcohol is toxic to said aliens and the only way to survive is getting wasted.

The inspiration from Tremors is undeniable, but Grabbers' boozy twist combined with its irrepressible Irishness allows it stand out from both Tremors and most other similar films.

It's a film that makes light fun of Irish stereotypes while also embracing the culture, wrapped around a gooey monster movie with some surprisingly sturdy effects considering the evidently low budget.

Though largely well-received at the time of its 2012 release, it's totally baffling that Grabbers hasn't become a bonafide monster movie classic over the last decade.
