20 Most Anticipated Horror Movies Of 2027

In a sea of generic, unmemorable shark movies, Netflix's junky action-horror film Under Paris was at least tough to forget for all its flaws.

With its takes-no-prisoners approach to its cast and that shocker of an ending that left the center of Paris flooded with shark-infested water, the sequel basically wrote itself.

And production recently got underway on Under Paris 2, which will presumably pick up where the original left off, with the central characters fighting to survive in a waterlogged Paris.

The real kicker here, though, is that original journeyman director Xavier Gens has been replaced with Alexandre Aja for the sequel, and considering his fantastic work on violent creature features Piranha 3D and Crawl, he sure seems like an inspired choice to tackle this material.

With Aja at the helm there's a good chance this sequel far outpaces its hit-and-miss predecessor, and hopefully it'll find a way to lay the groundwork for an even more bonkers third chapter.
