20 Most Anticipated Horror Movies Of 2027

1. Flesh of the Gods

Mandy Panos Cosmatos
Elevation Pictures

Flesh of the Gods is the long-awaited new film from Panos Cosmatos - the iconoclastic filmmaker behind Beyond the Black Rainbow and Mandy.

Despite his cult of fans, for a while it seemed like this gothic vampire movie wasn't going to get made, because despite originally having a cast led by Kristen Stewart, Oscar Isaac, and Elizabeth Olsen, Cosmatos couldn't secure funding for the damn thing.

But he got the money eventually and Flesh of the Gods finally recently wrapped filming, with Isaac and Olsen replaced by Wagner Moura and Esmé Creed-Miles.

We don't know a whole lot about the film yet, except that it's set in 1980s Los Angeles and follows a married couple (Moura and Stewart) who cross paths with a hedonistic vampire (Creed-Miles).

But considering Cosmatos' prior work, it's a fair bet to expect stunningly trippy visuals, incredible music, and some bone-crunchingly gnarly violence.

If this isn't one of 2027's most unforgettable horror films - if not also one of its best - it'd be a huge shock.
