Birds Of Prey Trailer Review: 7 Ups & 4 Downs
4. Lots Of Stylised Violence & Action
Just because it's more colourful, you needn't worry that Warner Bros are compromising in the action stakes. After all, Harley Quinn's part in Suicide Squad - and her popularity - came from that film's intense action sequences.
Though the cutting style tends to mean all of the obviously heavily stylised scenes are cut away from pretty quickly, the flashes in there do look great. And it looks a lot more imaginative than just being another John Wick clone. If those sequences look as good as they seem to, we'll be in for a treat.
And even more importantly, it looks like Harley is going to have a more active role in the fighting. While she had her moments in Suicide Squad, she wasn't really pushed as much as fans would probably have liked to see. Obviously, there was probably some reluctance to make her a fully-fledged bad-ass when she was a therapist not long before, but this is a comic book world and who needs that much of a grounding in reality?
