Black Adam: 10 Things You Need To Know About Dwayne Johnson's DC Movie

The image above comes from the sizzle reel which was shown during DC FanDome, and while it may look like little more than a badass image of Black Adam, that floating purple gemstone may offer some big clues about what to expect from the movie. It appears to be the Heart of Darkness, an ancient stone harvested by Darkseid on Apokolips to destroy his enemies.

That diamond was later bonded with Eclipso, the first incarnation of the Spirit of Wrath who went rogue. Sealed inside the Heart of Darkness, he could possess those that came into contact with it, and did so on a number of occasions. This likely means Black Adam will be up against a powerful, ancient force, and it will be interesting seeing how that ties into the wider DCEU.

This would definitely strengthen the lore of this shared world, and potentially gives Black Adam and the Justice Society a reason to team up against a much larger threat. This could even tie into the planned Justice League Dark series which is in the works for HBO Max.
