Black Panther: Wakanda Forever - Ending & Post-Credit Scenes Explained

The main driving force of Wakanda Forever is grief, and how all the characters deal with it. From the very first scenes, it's clear that Shuri is struggling to process the death of her brother (and later, mother), throwing herself instead into her work. When she's compelled by her mother to finally end the mourning period, allow herself to think about her loss and move on, she says that she can't. If she does, she'll want to burn the world and everyone in it.

These feelings only intensify after the loss of her mother, but in the movie's final scene, after realising that vengeance will only bring pain, Shuri finally allows herself to mourn and attempt to move on. In one of the most moving sequences in the flick, we see Shuri alone, performing the same ritual her mother attempted to share with her earlier, as she thinks about what she's been through.

It's a poignant moment, and one that concludes Shuri's arc brilliantly.
