Black Panther: Wakanda Forever - Ending & Post-Credit Scenes Explained
2. Prince T'Challa
But we aren't done, as in the film's only credits sequence, we cut back to the beach as Shuri is comforted by Lupita Nyong'o's Nakia, who has company.
She introduces Shuri to a young boy named Toussaint, the child of Nakia and T'Challa, who they had in secret before his death. For the past seven years, she's been in Haiti raising the kid in accordance to T'Challa's last wishes, those being that he wanted his son to grow up away from the pressure of Wakanda and his destiny to eventually take the throne. As close as a superhero's kid can get to a normal life, essentially.
On top of this, Nakia reveals that Toussaint is the boy's Haitian name, and that his Wakandan name is T'Challa, just like his father. This secret child was also what Shuri's mother tried to tell her earlier in the movie, but was cut off when Namor announced his arrival on Wakandan soil.
Toussaint is the latest in the long line of younger superheroes Marvel has established over the past few years, setting the groundwork for the future generation that will lead this cinematic universe.
