Black Widow: 10 Major New Details Revealed About The Marvel Movie

Rick Mason is played by The Handmaid's Tale star O.T. Fagbenle, and one of the more mysterious additions to Black Widow. Mason doesn't have much in the way of history in the comic books, but it sounds like his role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe won't be all that different to the source material.

"Mason is a finder for people who aren't so affiliated with armies, like people who are part of the underworld. He can find anything you need as well," Fagbenle teased. "He's had a relationship doing that work for the Black Widow, and they have a bit of a vibe going on. There's a sense that there's more to their relationship than it being purely work related, so that's always in the mix."

As for how he factors into this story, the actor added: "Mason's story starts when Natasha is trying to escape, and she needs a place to hide out. And then later on, when she gets in trouble, she calls me up again. Mason is the guy that you want on your side if you get into a hard corner."

Despite theories that Mason will be revealed as Taskmaster, nothing Fagbenle says here indicates he's secretly a villain, so it could be that he's ultimately little more than a supporting player in this tale.
