Bumblebee: 10 Reasons To Be Excited

First sparked by the reveal that Bumblebee's vehicle form would be that of his classic VW Beetle from his early Generation 1 days, fans have been curious as to wether the other Transformers featured in the film will be taking inspiration from the original G1 designs too.

Fortunately, it seems like Bumblebee isn't taking inspiration from G1 as much as it is lifting its designs straight out of the animated show and putting them through a big budget CGI filter.

Honestly, no one could have guessed just how amazing the G1 based designs of Optimus Prime, Soundwave and Blitzwing could really be on the big screen until the first look at these characters in the second trailer. Going this direction is another sign that Bumblebee seems to have a great fondness for the history of Transformers, and that the film is actively seeking to recapture that spark of imagination born from the toys and show of the 1980s.

If you're a Transformers fan, this is perhaps the most exciting thing that Bumblebee could have done, and even if you aren't, this is a good sign that Bumblebee will be tackling the Transformers franchise with far more passion and reverence than we have ever seen before.
