10 Movies That Just Got Cancelled
5. Bullitt Reboot
In February 2022, Steven Spielberg was said to be directing and producing a reboot of the classic Steve McQueen-starring 1968 crime thriller Bullitt, with Josh Singer (Spotlight, First Man) tapped to pen the script.
The project was revealed to be a new Frank Bullitt story rather than a remake of the original movie, and later that year Bradley Cooper was cast in the lead role.
Updates came sparingly in the years that followed, with Spielberg insisting that it was still in the early stages as recently as 2024, all while he plowed ahead with other projects such as his new sci-fi film Disclosure Day.
But a recent report indicates that the Bullitt reboot is more-or-less dead, or in the very least on the backest of back-burners, possibly due to a behind-the-scenes falling out between Spielberg and Cooper.
Either way, the report claims that Spielberg is currently mulling over options for his next film and Bullitt absolutely isn't one of them. Shame.
